How to Factory Restore a Legacy Kiosk

Before You Begin


Before attempting to connect a kiosk to a network, be sure that you have the following:

  1. The kiosk's administrative password (*)
  2. The network name and password (if using Wi-Fi)
  3. The registration key corresponding to the kiosk and location being set up

(*) - A kiosk's administrative password is chosen during the kiosk's initial setup process. Please call Versatile Credit Customer Support if you need the password.


After Clearing the Key


After a Registration Key is cleared from a Legacy kiosk, you will need to complete the initial setup process and enter a new registration key before resuming use.


Step-by-Step Guide


  1. Determine that the Registration Key needs to be cleared from a device
    1. Registration Keys only need to be cleared if:
      1. A device was set up with an incorrect key
      2. A device is being moved to a new location
  2. Reboot the kiosk by unplugging it and plugging it back in
  3. Click on "Configure" once the option becomes available

  4. Enter the kiosk's administrative password

  5. In the Configuration Main Menu, click on "Factory Restore"

  6. Follow the prompts on-screen to factory restore the device. Once the kiosk finishes the restoration process, it will return to the initial setup screen
  7. Follow the prompts on-screen to complete the setup process. Once the kiosk is connected to a network, you will be able to enter a new registration key for the kiosk
