Printer Troubleshooting Guide (KR203)
- The purpose of this guide is to provide basic steps to follow if a Cumberland kiosk is experiencing issues with its KR203 printer
- This guide is intended for the personnel responsible for maintaining the kiosk

Before You Begin
Before beginning the kiosk installation, be sure that you have the following:
- The key to open the kiosk
Confirm that your kiosk has a KR203 printer, as shown below.
If the printer in your kiosk is not a KR203, please see:
Troubleshooting the Printer
- Troubleshooting a printer on a Cumberland kiosk will differ depending on whether the printer is powered on or off.
- Open the kiosk enclosure and check the power status of the printer at the bottom of the kiosk.
- The status of the printer can be determined by status indicator lights.
- KR203 printers have a green status light indicating they are powered on.
If the printer is powered On:
- Reset the Printer.
- Power off the printer by unplugging the power cable.
- Remove the paper (if applicable.)
- Reconnect the printer to power.
- Load paper into the printer.
- Test the printer.
If the printer doesn't produce a receipt, reseat (unplug and plug back in) the cable from the printer to the PC and test the printer again.
- If, after these steps, the printer doesn't produce a receipt, check the status light on the side of the printer and note the number of times that the light flashes. Follow the steps below based on the number of flashes.
- One flash (Paper Jam)
- Power off the printer
- Hold jammed paper firmly in both hands
- Carefully pull the paper to ensure that it does not tear
- Return to Step 1 of this section
- Two flashes (Cutter Jam)
- Power off the printer
Ensure that the printer head is closed correctly
- Return to Step 1 of this section
- Three flashes (Out of Paper)

- Four flashes (Printer Head Lifted)
- Power off the printer
Ensure that the printer head is closed correctly
- Return to Step 1 of this section
- Five flashes (Paper Feed Error)
- Power off the printer by unplugging the power cable.
- Remove the paper (if applicable.)
- Reconnect the printer to power.
- Load paper into the printer.
- One flash (Paper Jam)

If the printer is powered Off:
- Attempt to reseat the printer power cable.
Unplug the power cable going from the printer to the power strip on both ends.
Depending on the power cable, there can be an additional connection going into a power brick.
- If the printer powers on, test the printer to confirm that everything is working correctly.
